On the 19th February of 1942 the Zeros from elite Tainan Kokutai were sent to engage ABDA air force over Surabai Java. 24 Japaneese top pilots fought against a swarm of poorly trained but very brave opponents . The result of this battle was was a slaughter of Allied Mohawks, Tomahawks and Buffalos.
This scenario giving opportunity to try if the quantity is a quality of its own or the prize should belong to the veterans of many campaigns.
In this scenario Japaneese Navy pilots fought against ADBA air force. Each side have equal point value of 700 pts. Axis player choosing aircrafts available in 1942 (preffered choice is A6M2 Zero). Each pilot should be Ace (with his own Ace trait) and one of them have to be Saburo Sakai (with two personal traits).
It is recommended to devide Allied force into two squadrons (which could be lead by two players). At least half of the pilots in each squadron shoud be Rookies. The rest could be Regular. Allied players can use any types of aircrafts available in Dutch Air Force or RAF. Preffered types are P36 Mohawk, B339C/D and P40B/C.
The scenario is based on Dogfight rules. Each ABDA squadron can use optional British or US Doctrine cards and Allied mid war Pacific Theatre cards excluding Numbers.
